TEACHER TO CHILD RATIO
Our preschool/kindergarten teachers
hold degrees in education and have 20 to 35 years of teaching experience.
There is daily consistency of staff (morning assistants are afternoon teachers
and morning teachers are afternoon administrators) and very low staff turnover.
We maintain at least a 1:10 ratio at all times. Our average ratio
is 1:7.
FACILITIES
AND SUPPLIES
We are blessed with large, attractive
classrooms, and a well equipped playground. Our full-sized carpeted
gymnasium provides children with a place to play actively year-round.
Most necessary supplies (paint, paper,
crayons, etc.) are provided by the school. Children are asked to
bring a few items at the beginning of the school year. Children who
nap are asked to bring a small pillow and blanket. All children must
have a complete change of clothes in case of an accident.
NUTRITION
A mid-morning and afternoon snack are
served daily. They include at least two of the basic food groups.
During the school year, the morning snacks are provided by the parents
on a rotation basis.
We have found that children are more
likely to eat meals brought from home, therefore lunches are brought in
a labeled sack or lunch box and are refrigerated. The school provides
milk.
Parents are encouraged to become as
involved as possible. You are always welcome in the classrooms.
You will be asked if you would like to help on field trips or during other
special activities. Parent conferences are held twice a year.
You are encouraged to discuss any issues of concern and to check with us
concerning your child's progress.
HEALTH/SAFETY/SECURITY
Your child's health and safety is a
matter of major concern to us. We promote health and safety by practicing
and teaching good hygiene and nutritional habits, and by maintaining a
safe, secure environment. Children are observed daily for signs of
health problems. All entrances to the facility are either locked
or closely monitored at all times.
